Summer is just around the corner, and there’s no doubt you’ve got tons of fun things planned. Is a big road trip on your list? Before you roll out, make sure your Hyundai is equipped for adventure!

Mechanical Checkups

  • Wipers. If your windshield wipers are a little worse for wear, it may be time to replace them. You’ll want to see all the sights with a clean, clear windshield after all! Check out our parts specials and let the savings rain down!?
  • Tires. Be sure to get your tires rotated and inflated as needed. Additionally, be mindful of tire tread depth. The NHTSA warns that tires worn 2/32 of an inch or thinner are not safe to drive on. If this is the case, you’ll want to have them replaced. Our experienced service technicians will be able to inspect them and let you know if it’s time for a switch. The last thing you want on a road trip is a tire blowout. Lastly, if you’re down a spare, be sure to get another one. It’s always best to be prepared!
  • Battery. Have your battery checked to make sure it’s still got plenty of life. Car batteries typically last between 3-5 years. If yours is up there in age, you may want to consider a new one. Don’t risk getting out on the road, only to have to get towed!
  • Fluids. Get your fluids topped off as needed. The first thing that comes to mind for many is an oil change. However, you should also consider having your brake fluid, engine coolant, power steering, and windshield wiper fluid checked as well. It’s never a bad idea to have all your bases covered! Luckily, all of this is included with an oil change at our service center! Schedule an appointment today!

Necessities and Accessories

When most people think of car accessories, they may think of frivolous add-ons that they don’t really need. But the true adventurer knows that the right accessories can help you make the most of your vehicle! Here are just a few ideas:

  • Depending on the kind of terrain you’ll be covering, you may want to invest in some accessories that can help keep wear and tear at bay. All-weather floor mats and mud/splash guards will prepare your Hyundai to face the road and brave the wilderness with ease. ?
  • If you’re planning boating or camping, you’ll need a tow hitch. They’re compatible with the larger members of the Hyundai SUV family - the Tucson, Santa Fe, Santa Fe Sport and XL, and the upcoming Palisade. If you’re a proud Hyundai SUV driver, towing is a walk in the park!
  • Want to take the kayak out? Perhaps you’re hitting the bike trails? No problem. We’ve got a set of crossbars for that.

If you didn’t see quite what you need listed above, have no fear. You can browse all of these accessories (and more) from the comfort of your own home. Check out our online accessory store!

Some Final Tips

  • Be aware of how much cargo your Hyundai can carry. Weighing a car down too much can negatively affect fuel economy, especially in smaller models. If your car is overloaded, it can throw off suspension, which is a recipe for disaster.
  • SUV drivers beware: the way you pack is a careful balance. Heavier items should always be kept on the bottom of the pile. If not, they could become projectiles in the event of an accident.
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are excellent systems to have at your disposal for long trips. They’re designed to help keep your eyes on the road and simplify the infotainment experience. Depending on the year of your vehicle, you may be able to have the system installed if you don’t already have it. You can learn more here!

Once you’re ready to roll, fill up your tank and hit the road! Happy Summer and safe travels!
